I just have to share with you the work of...possibly my favourite designer....at least in my top ten! As well as having an amazing name, Christian Zuzunaga's work often embodies part of what I would love to capture in my own work.

I know, I have mentioned him in an earlier post but I thought it was high time I gave over a whole post to the genus man.

A fellow cushion lover, he creates his designs by blowing up pictures of cityscapes so huge that they become mere pixels. I love this idea that you can't even tell what image it was in the beginning, but that it's just a small fragment of something much larger and unseen. (Much like life.....) but before I run away with my deep insights (pah!) most of all they are fun, colourful, and look great together. 

Curtains...what can't this man do?!

He can do beds, scarves, curtains and rugs that's for sure! Would someone please buy me this chair?

Inspirational photography

Thought I'd take a second on this very cold afternoon in February to look at some recent photos. I always try to take photographs of anything that inspires of interests me, no matter what or where. Here are some of my favourites:

Some cupcakes I made yesterday, fresh from the oven. For some reason the symmetry of them and the colours just seemed to want to be photographed! I see a pattern....

Silk dupion I recently bought for my new range of printed cushions, watch out for these soon. Just love the texture of fabric when photographed like this! Turning a texture into a 2d image.

Surf, rock, pebbles. Images from a beach near my home town in Devon. Forced my family to go out for a very rainy and windy walk on Boxing Day! But it was very beautiful.

Architecture of London: this city which is my new home is constantly surprising me with its wide variety of architectural styles. I have developed a habit of walking looking up at the buildings, which can lead to embarrassing incidents!

Balloons!! (I'm easily amused...!) Love the colours. Took this photograph at Winder Wonderland in Hyde Park.

Greetings Cards

Finally got my greetings cards printed!! Very excited to see my designs as a product.

 I really think greetings cards designs are very lacking these days - go into any Clintons or Card Factory and its all exactly the same: golf for dads, shopping for mums, casual jokes about adultery and alcoholism! So I decided to try and create something different, more interesting, and adaptable to different occasions. Something pretty, yet functional. Here's the results:
